Summary: TachoCard uses only strictly necessary cookies required for the service to function, and optional analytics cookies activated only with your explicit consent. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.

1. Who We Are

This Cookie Policy applies to the TachoCard website (tacho-card.com) and web application (app.tacho-card.com), operated by Info Data SRL (trading as TachoCard), a company incorporated in Romania, European Union.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, improve user experience, and provide business analytics. Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting (first-party cookies) or by third-party services embedded on the page (third-party cookies).

Similar technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage serve comparable functions and are also covered by this policy.

3. Legal Basis

Our use of cookies is governed by:

  • GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679) — for data processed via cookies that constitutes personal data
  • Romanian Law 506/2004 on personal data processing and protection of privacy in electronic communications, implementing the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC as amended by 2009/136/EC)
  • Law 190/2018 on measures for the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 in Romania

Under these laws, non-essential cookies require your prior, informed, and freely given consent. Strictly necessary cookies may be used without consent as they are essential for the service to function.

  • Accept all — enables strictly necessary and analytics cookies
  • Reject non-essential — enables only strictly necessary cookies

Your consent choice is stored in localStorage under the key tachocard_cookie_consent and is valid for 12 months. You can review or change your cookie preferences at any time using the "Manage Cookie Preferences" link in the footer of any page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

6. How to Manage or Delete Cookies

In addition to our consent mechanism, you can manage cookies directly through your browser:

  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies and site permissions

Please note that deleting or blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent TachoCard from functioning correctly. To withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time, click "Manage Cookie Preferences" in the footer of any page — this is as easy as it was to give consent (GDPR Art. 7(3)).

7. Data Transfers

Processing of data collected via cookies occurs within the European Union. Any transfer to third parties (Stripe, Cloudflare) is governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or EU adequacy decisions, ensuring GDPR-level protection.
